We all know that our bodies called an Endocrine system. It produces hormones and other compounds essential for making our ‘physicals’ operate properly.
Foods and liquids provide the raw materials that our bodies use to fuel this system. Clearly we don’t work properly unless this system is optimal. The Endocrine system is relatively well understood.
Less well known, however, is the Endocannabinoid system, a series of functions within the body which supplies compounds to our central nervous system. The full effect of this interaction is still subject to debate, but in these enlightened times increasing research is beginning to show how a well regulated Endocannabinoid system is also essential for proper bodily operation.
Those are facts. Look at other pages to assure yourself of that.
I’m no scientist, but I am a researcher. Of course I didn’t just read up them couple pages and assume my convictions based on that. The interwebs might be good for giving information, it’ll never provide experience. Well I’ve got the experience of around 50 years as a cannabis user, and the knowledge that constant research and update have given me during that period.
Coupled with that I’ve got a vested interest in knowing how cannabis can help with my chronic Atherosclerosis, diabetes, and the constant pain that results from this combination of foul conditions.
As institutional knowledge and scientific study of the plant has for many years been censured and obscured, I’ve only ever been able to base my opinions on current-state information, and during those times I’ve never encountered anything that would suggest that my favorite herb does other than good for my brain, and my body.
I’m delighted to know that these enlightened times are providing the evidence that I’ve never been more right!
Fueling my Endocannabinoid system in much the same way that I fuel my Endocrine system helps bring my nervous system into good balance. It helps me medically, and I can testify to the pain relieving and anti-inflammatory qualities of high THC and CBD doses.
So to me it’s a no-brainer. My Endocannabinoid system is designed to accept THC and CBD directly into its CB1 and CB2 receptors, literally scattered throughout my brain, my spine, my nervous system. They’re MADE for that purpose. We were BORN with the ability to soak up those compounds. Our livers have an inbuilt function which gobbles up those substances and converts them into ‘Delta’ compounds, potent medicines which are flushed into my body and – oh wow, I could go on.
There’s no end to the amazing ways a human can metabolise cannabis.
It smacks me in the face that – somewhere in our evolution – we had an intrinsic bond with the cannabis plant, and in my humble opinion our personal well-being – and that continuing evolution – is stunted when we don’t use it.
I hope this page gives you reason to want to understand more!
